Ellen, I must echo what others have already said -- this couple can and should take
the baby! My 11-wk-old often goes along for walks in the sling, even at night. He
wears a one-piece hooded fleece suit over his clothes, and my husband or I wear
the sling under a winter coat. I can't zip my coat over the sling but for my own
warmth I have found that wearing a hat and scarf is enough to make up for the open
coat. If it's *really* cold we tuck a blanket over baby & sling. If I am wearing nursing
clothes he can even nurse without either of us getting cold. Mostly we are too warm!

Tell this couple that people who reside in cold climates nevertheless manage to go
out with their babies and be attached parents -- these things aren't limited by the
weather!
