Thank goodness, my federal tax dollars are being spent on something fabulous that I can fully support.

Everyone on Lactnet is commanded to run -- don't walk -- to the Health Resources and Services Admministration site, to order your FREE copy of the "Business Case for Breastfeeding" (www.ask.hrsa.gov/detail.cfm?PubID=MCH00250). International orders are welcomed.

Absolutely gorgeous materials -- referencing IBCLCs specifically -- about the value (and ease) of setting up programs for workplace support for BF. Make sure you get all the booklets -- there are different ones meant for employees, employers and business managers.

Private practioners out there should be scrambling to get this stuff. I think providing workplace support for BF is the next wave for our profession, and this stuff is just about all you'd need if you were approaching a company to offer your services in establishing such a program.

Public kudos here to Cathy Carothers, IBCLC, who was instrumental in developing these materials in a project lasting five years.Liz Brooks, JD, IBCLCWyndmoor, PA, USA
