Hello
I had an interesting case this past month.
A mother called me crying stating she had been on antibiotics for a year with
"Mastitis". She felt terrible and she had just finished talking to her doc and
he was going to start her on antibiotics again as she had pain in her left
breast and at times had redness. This mother had large breast and had either
been pregnant or breastfeeding for 10 years. She wondered if I could help her .
I really thought she probably had inflamatory breast disease/Cancer.
I made arrangements for her to see a Breast surgeon. The mother had an
ultrasound and mammogram both of which were negative., then the surgeon ordered
an MRI. Would you believe, she had a tear in the Pectoralis muscle. Thus the
pain etc. and to think this woman was on antibiotics off and on for 1 year.
Just another thing to consider when a mother continues to have pain and the
antibiotics are not curing the "mastitis"
