Sorry--I should have been more clear; I'll re-phrase: has anyone ever heard
of 4 oz. of breastmilk per day being the threshold at which many of the
immunological benefits of breastmilk are available to the baby? In other
words, the level at which it is "worth it" to continue with breastfeeding? I
have heard this "magic number" from two different sources and am wondering if
there is evidence or studies to back it up. I vaguely remember a discussion
here a few months back with the subject "120 mls," but maybe that was in a
different vein. In any case, I can search the archives for that one.

Thanks for any input!

Heather Kelly, MA
