Today we received a warning from one of our injury prevention staff regarding co-sleeping. It was based on a message from Health Canada, Product Safety Division, which in turn was based on the following article:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2003/10/031006064748.htm

This has been reprinted.

Note that Health Canada did not go to the source material. Nor the injury prevention staffer, "Because I respect and trust what Health Canada says". Based on a newspaper article. <aaaargh>

I have forwarded the UNICEF standards for safe co-sleeping, but they are not as "good" as Health Canada.

Any thoughts out there?

Judith
