Why on earth was her baby given glucose water at all? I have never heard of this.

Is there a recommended protocol for glucose water supplementation? I checked the ABM website but did not see one specifically for glucose water, and the protocol for supplementation link was broken.

I have a prenatal client expecting her second and her milk only came in on day 5 following the birth of her first baby. Her first received glucose water supplements until her milk came in (she gave birth in a hospital working toward BFI designation).

She is wondering how long a baby can go on glucose water supplements, before milk comes in, and I was unable to answer her?
