I just got a call from a mom yesterday on this topic. I agree with Cathy
that Benadryl can be useful but for long term I don't like its side effects.
It concerns me some to have a mom co-bedding while taking a sedative
anti-histamine.
For moms with bothersome symptoms I suggest they consider a non sedating
antihistamine and or steroid nasal sprays.
As for the cold/flu meds, I'm not a fan of them as they have none side
effects and no proven efficacy. I like nasal saline for irrigation of the
nose.
