I don't know which is the "lesser evil, "  shields or shells, but in these
days of cost containment you could point out that a lot of money is being
wasted by giving every mom shells!  You need a policy for when they are
given out and by whom.  Or you could do like I used to and keep them locked
in your locker :-) so I was the one who decided if they were needed or not.

I  think the discussion on use of shields has been very valuable.  Someone
commentd on the use of "always" and "never."  Shields are such a good
example of why absolutes  don't belong in lactation, there are too many
variables when it comes to breastfeeding dyads. :-)
