Ruth Fiedler wrote: "I wonder if these women should write letters to
various health authorities expressing their grief and stating that they do
wish future mothers would have every opportunity to avoid the grief they
have experienced all these years and would like to see upgraded health
education of all HP's, the adoption of BFHI in all hospitals, the world
wide recognition of LC'c and mother to mother support groups such as Le
Lache and Australian Breastfeeding  Association?"

I wonder, too. And, I think it takes a great deal of support for women who
have been culturally taught to label their feelings about not breastfeeding
as "guilt" to come to recognize that what they are feeling is
well-justified grief for the loss of breastfeeding and well-justified anger
at having had their efforts to breastfeed undermined so systematically in
their society.
