Hi Yaffa,

Yep, "breast at request" is better. But I do think our babies end up
demanding a lot because we ignore the feeding cues for so long (politely
asking mom to please feed) that they end up crying. (Demanding). I also
think American babies learn that they have to cry to get anything because
when they are "good" (not crying) they are put away from the mother into a
crib or seat, alone, away from mom. When they cry, they are picked up and
comforted and held. Not to say we shouldn't pick up babies when they cry,
but shouldn't we teach parents to pick up babies and enjoy them when they are
"good" too? Perhaps we could cut down on the crying. Slings for every
baby!!

I'm all for protesting the cost of the pump to the rental station to the
company. If we all wrote a letter..... individually. By the way, in your
mail shortly all the rental stations should have a customer satisfaction
questionnaire. It is geared towards evaluating the service rep, but it DOES
have a self addressed stamped envelope attached, and DOES go to the sales
dept. What better time than NOW!!!!

Grated carrots? What about doing your own study where moms use carrots on
one nipple and ??? on the other and see what heals faster. Correct for
positioning and latch on, and study away. Given my druthers between grated
carrots and benzoin, take a quick guess at which I'd go for. I read about
geranium leaves in the ALCA News a couple of years ago. Is anyone using
them? I've tried a couple of times, and a couple of the moms loved them.
Tried on Timothy's scraped knee, too, but he wasn't interested in being
another guinea pig =\ He'd already been the recipient of cabbage on the
swollen foot.

Rain today. :(
