         quick question what next ?

11 week infant on the 75% curve exclusive Breast milk Hgl 9.1 has periodic
(QOD) bright bloody mucous in (normal Brf ) stools. GI docs have mom on
protein elimination diet (very strict) and said if this does not work she
will have to wean and give nutramigen...WHY? what is wrong? endoscopy said
there was a "red spot" in the lower rectal area...so? why not fissures?
What harm is a little bright bloody mucous theoretically? baby is
otherwise healthy and developiong well....

Do you remember a spanish SPAIN GI peds doc on LACTNET ?Gonzales? where is
he? this mom is from Ecuador would like to communicate with Hispanic
specialist too...Thanks for everything...RUTHY W. RN BSN IBCLC
