I know for a fact that breastmilk reduces the risk of necrotizing
enterocolitis in the premature baby. However, the baby actually sick with
the disease should not have anything by mouth until recuperation is
occuring. But about necrotizing enterocolitis in babies od cocaine
addicted mothers, I do not know. Ask the lady if the physiopathology  of
NE is the same as with premature babies. If it is, then her reasoning is
strange.
