PS. Do you know what support these orgs might need in terms of resources? I
have asked elsewhere but have yet to hear. There are people asking how they
might support IFE interventions in Japan with donations but none of the
usual orgs involved in IFE are involved (for eg UNICEF is usually the lead
on IFE but they are not activating a nutrition cluster in Japan and so no
IFE response from them at this point). I am sure that there are some on
Lactnet who would like to know whether there is any way of assisting in
Japan.

Subject: Re: Radiation and Breastfeeding

I am in close contact with some Japanese LLL Leaders, and they told me
that LLL Japan, JALC (Japanese Association of Lactation Consultants) and
BSN have created a special hotline to support breastfeeding mothers, and
that they are jointly working to the news release about radiation and
breastfeeding (also based on some of the material some of you shared
here on the list, as far as I could understand).
I believe that they are working as hard as they can to support mothers
and babies.
