Pretty funny Morgan..

Just thought I'd ask how you all react when working with a mother who refers to her
breasts as 'boobs' , 'boobies', 'tits', 'titties' and the like.
When doing phone helping, the caller doesn't see my cringe (sometimes they sound as
irritating as nails on a chalkboard) .  On my phone log I always
write her word and put a smiley face..really only for my own amusement and help me temper
myself.  I always use
correct anatomy words when speaking with her...making sure I don't emphasize my preferred
word so as not to be judgmental of the mother's preferred word.  
I didn't become a breastfeeding mother until I was 32.  I can't for the life of me remember
 EVER naming my breasts....oh, wait...I think I called them 'the girls'...LOL

This string made me remember what happened many years ago to Marian Tompson, one
of the founding mothers of LLLI and at that time President of the BOD.  They were going to 
televise a program called the 'night of a thousand stars'...hallmarking individuals and organizations
that made huge contributions to betterment of mankind.  Well, LLLI was chosen..and I remember
back even before email...the word still spread fast to watch LLLI be honored and mentioned on a
national televised primetime program.  Even more honored; Marian was to be introduced by
Walter Cronkite (this memory was my first when he recently passed).  I guess it was a bit
of a 'cold read' meaning he didn't have much time to read off the teleprompter other than
a minute before he was to introduce.  Just minutes before he was to announce Marian; he
said...."I can't say breast!!!!"  So it never happened.  Marian received her honor off camera,
and the world was spared from hearing Walter Cronkite say breast.  If Marian reads LN, I'm
sure she would give the re-telling more accuracy...as I'm going on memory.

"Boob" and "booby" are linguistically more challenging in some cultures, 
like the UK, as they also mean 'idiot'.  In fact, idiot is the most 
common usage.

We also have the booby-prize - the idiot prize for those too stupid to 
pass the test.

So the word is 'common' and not attractive on several fronts.  Used as 
either an insult, or as a description of female breasts; it's a word of 
crudeness. Lower class, don't cha know.  :-)
