Dear Colleagues and friends,

The World Breastfeeding Week is a good time to announce the slogan for next
year's WBW - which will be related to education and breastfeeding - and I'm
glad to say that we've sent a message to thousands of people asking about
the best slogan and two-thirds of us voted for "BREASTFEEDING: EDUCATION FOR
LIFE".

Soon we will be able to start to begin planning for how we can mobilize
communities, schools and educational institutions of all kinds around this
exciting new theme. But, don't forget to send me reports on what you have
done this year, so they can be added to our growing website. That way we can
share ideas and inspire each other!

Join in planning to promote breastfeeding: ecucation for life!

Best wishes for a great WBW 1998 as well as WBW 1999! It has been great for
me to be the WBW international coordinator and a thrill to get to know so
many of you who have been working for so long and so selflessly on behalf of
the mothers and babies of the world.
