I agree that bf is safe once mom is alert after surgery and usual pain meds
are safe too.  By the way, seems that the 2 moms asking are nursing older
babies, toddlers I think.  I feel this is less of an issue as even if these
children still nurse alot, they metabolize and clear these drugs much better
than the newborns.

well-informed mom can change the surgeons mind.
