With all respect to the frustrations the working, traveling, pumping mom's
muct be experiencing, I'm not sure I understand their specific complaint.
From my understanding breastmilk properly stored with coldpacks may be
placed in checked baggage. Breastpumps are allowed with mother's carry
on. Fresh breastmilk is good at room temp for several hours depending on
the source maybe 10? Ice is available from the flight attendants on most
aircraft. I understand that these women don't fit the usual appearance of
a terrorist. We live in a crazy world. What better diguise. "The liquid
is breastmilk and the mechanical contraption is a breastpump." This is
certainly hugely inconvenient for these mom's but not discriminatory. As
a member of the traveling public I'm not sure I'd want these exemptions.
I am glad I am safe at home and not trying to navigate an airport today!
I do feel for these mom's and those out of Heathrow who are allowed only
essential documents.
