You said baby doesn't like to be close.  What is his general posture.  Doing flexion things with him at times not breast feeding might help.  Like putting him in car seat type arrangement instead of into bed for periods of the day.  Several people have found lately that this helps with some of the fussy babies, and has improved BF as well.  Chanita
