I know that the tactic 'name and shame' can be very risky, at least if
done publicly. But what about naming and shaming this guy to the risk
management folks? This doc's statements reveal a dangerous level of
ignorance about the very field he has been appointed to lead. If
nothing else, risk management may be concerned about his idea that
formula is equivalent to mother's milk for premature babies, when it
has been so well documented as a major risk factor for NEC. Adding
fortifier to breastmilk subjects the baby to a NEC risk as well, and
that is one of the things doctors have to weigh against the benefit of
fortifier for those babies for whom it is appropriate.
I totally sympathize with how upsetting this must be for you. I would
be spitting nails.

indications for doing blood glucose monitoring and supplementing of
newborns and I am going crazy over it
