Hi, Nikki.
You say, "The mother has noticed that a day of feedings supplemented
with her cream are followed by a vomiting day." I am wondering, is mom feeding
the same amount baby used to take of regular milk, and *adding* an amount of
her cream? Perhaps the mother is doing this already, and it just isn't clear
to me, but I'm thinking that mother should be *replacing* an amount of
"regular" with an equal amount of "high-fat" milk. So if baby usually took 3 oz. at
a feeding, she should not be giving that 3 oz. and then offering an additional
1/2 oz. of "high-fat" milk; she should be giving 2 1/2 oz. "regular" with 1/2
oz. "high-fat", or similar math depending on how much "high-fat" she is able
to get. Otherwise, she is overextending baby's tummy, which could account for
the vomiting. I know that babies with cardiac problems sleep more because
they don't circulate oxygen well. But could it be that those days when baby
barely wakes are days after "vomiting days", and he is just worn out from the
exertion of vomiting?
