Just a quick note concerning colic and cow's milk allergies. Having had
three children with food and environmental sensitivties, I've found that a
quick trip to the non-dairy dairy aisle of the health food store and a dairy
free diet on my part for 4-7 days was less "extreme" than masking the
symptoms of a potentially nasty allergy. I feel better about finding the
cause of a problem and eliminating it than simply treating the symptoms.
This of course is not to say that every baby who fusses during the dinner
hour is dairy allergic, but heck if the problem persists and is accompanied
by other symptoms, a dairy free diet is worth a try.
