Dear Mary:  The procedure may be reversed, but an
additional surgical procedure would also place the
fetus at risk.  Reversal is usually the last option
taken as many of the usual complications are relieved
with other measures or simple passage of time.  It
could be the physicians & mother may wish to see if
she can maximize her caloric & nutritional intake
without the stress of additional surgery.  The family
is stuck between a rock & a hard place at this point.
