Moms For Milk Breastfeeding Network is pleased to announce the launch of the
first ever, "Everyday Breastfeeding" Photo Contest

(Please note that the following Contest is for Saskatchewan and Manitoba
(Canada) residents ONLY!)

But I am willing to share the files so that you could organize your own
photo contest for your province/state/region. Just email me at
[log in to unmask] to take a look at the files or for information!

I have prepared Word files for a photocopyable Poster in sizes 8 1/2" x 11"
and 8 1/2" x 14", the Contest Rules and Entry Form (2 pages), a Media
Release, and an information sheet on "Photo Contest Objectives and
Background Notes" for further information.

POSTER SAYS:
Have you breastfed at the store?
Doing chores? and sweeping floors?
Have you breastfed in your bed? While you read?
Have you breastfed at the game? On a plane?
Have you breastfed on a chair? Fixing your hair?
Have you breastfed everywhere?

EVERYDAY BREASTFEEDING Photo Contest

We know that breastfeeding happens in many ways in many places - not just in
your home, sitting in your rocking chair!

Enter your photos to show
YOUR experience of breastfeeding.

Recognition:
- Cash and merchandise prizes
- Photos will be used to help educate other moms, health professionals, and
the general public about what breastfeeding in Saskatchewan is really
like!!!

PHOTO INSPIRATIONS:
What kinds of photos could you enter? Be creative! All will be considered!
Infants Toddlers Preschoolers Twins & Triplets Tandem
Fun with Friends & Family - Holiday dinners, girls night out, at the beach,
hockey game
Getting the job done - it's amazing what a nursing duo can accomplish,
washing dishes, typing, folding laundry Making it Work - pumping or taking
your nursling to work with you.
Difficult situations - using a SNS, disabilities, challenging breastfeeding
situations
Taking a Break - reading, relaxing, snacking Out on the town - shopping,
waiting rooms
The many women who breastfeed - young, old, tall, short and everything in
between!

This contest is sponsored by a grant provided by the Saskatchewan Women's
Secretariat.
Contest organized by Moms For Milk Breastfeeding Network, with support from
the Breastfeeding Committee for Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Breastfeeding
Matters Awareness and Promotion Inc, and regional Breastfeeding Support
groups throughout Saskatchewan.
Prizes donated by Medela and Lansinoh.

IMPORTANT FACTS:
DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2003
Contest limited to Saskatchewan or Manitoba residents.
Pictures entered do not have to be current, pictures from past years are
welcome also.
All entries need to be sent to Moms For Milk, see address below (Canada Post
or email okay)

Please don't worry too much about having a "perfect" picture. Don't worry if
your house is messy, or you don't look your "best" - that's the point of
this contest - to show "real" women "really" breastfeeding. We do need
"useable" pictures though, so focus and lighting is important, but you don't
have to have perfect composition, etc we can crop the photos if needed.
Also, we don't have to actually "see" the baby nursing (ie the latch), the
circumstances surrounding the nursing pair may be more interesting.
(Although some close-ups of baby on breast are okay, too!).

If you want, you can write a short description of the situation and persons
and attach to photo. (optional)

Overall, we want to encourage PARTICIPATION! We will be giving out a number
of smaller prizes, for a variety of types of photographs, rather than just
one big grand prize winner.

Thanks for your interest and support,

Janice Reynolds
