Oh, Pam. What a sad, sad story. Glad you are hanging in there with the mom.

Whatever happens to the baby, please remember to help the mom cope with her
breasts and milk supply. You may be the only one who remembers that her
breasts didn't expect the baby to have problems, and that she needs
sensitive care regarding this aspect of her reproductive system.

I have a handout on my web site dealing with "rapid reduction of milk
supply" http://www.bflrc.com/ljs/breastfeeding/dryupfst.htm  that I wrote
for a mom who needed to wean quickly. It's also been useful for mothers who
babies did not live.
