Would there be anything wrong in giving a baby of this age a pickle?
If the taste was unpleasant, the baby would simply reject it, and a
baby of this age, while old enough to have other foods, will not be
able to hold the pickle for long. As long as someone is with her in
case of choking risks (in case she manage to break off a piece by
accident!), then I can't see the problem! I can't imagine the baby
would do more than just lick it a bit!

Am I missing something? Maybe I am misunderstanding what a dill
pickle is as we don't have them here, but I am thinking it's what we
would call a pickled gherkin - and while I probably wouldn't think of
giving one to a baby, it would be because the strong taste would be
too much for the baby.
