Firing patients, eh? And how do they respond if mothers switch to formula
because BF isn't working, due to tongue tie? Is choosing an inferior food,
and declining to do what all the evidence tells us is best for the child's
health, a reason to get fired by your pediatrician as well?

I was also astounded to read that getting a tongue-tie clipped cost $400
according to one poster. Since one could carry out at least two in the time
it takes to read this post, one begins to discern the contours of a wonderful
business opportunity. It takes me over a week to earn that much money at my
hospital job as a midwife (after taxes). How much would it cost to have a doc
do a procedure that takes more than 0.5 seconds? Even counting the time it
takes to usher the patient in and out of the office, do the assessment, carry
out the procedure, sterilize the instruments, and write the bill, this is a
pretty generous hourly rate.

Kristiansand, Norway, where having an ENT specialist clip a tongue tie results
in the hospital getting reimbursed about $25.00 by our national health scheme,
and no one is even complaining!
