Have you read Rebecca Mannel's staffing study that was published in the Journal of Human Lactation?  I think that there is a reference to the staffing ratio in that article.  I thought that the ratio was 1:1,000

 Last year at the ILCA conference, the Inter Mountain Hospital group from Utah had a presentation about staffing.  They confirmed Mannel's statistics were accurate in their institutions.  Rachel Wahl RN IBCLC
