Is it possible to have mastitis/abscess without a fever? She hasn't had
any fever or other signs of full-blown mastitis.

I'll definitely urge her to go to a breast surgeon for a look-see ASAP.
Do they use ultrasound as a diagnostic tool, or just use the symptoms and
appearance? I'd like to give her an idea of what to expect.

Thanks so much for the help!!
