Hi,

Does anyone know of a connection between precocious puberty and breast
feeding success?

A patient was diagnosed with precocious puberty at age 2 with breast
development and menses, was put on medication and then got regular periods at
age eight. Estrogen therapy was then stopped.

She is now having difficulty breastfeeding. Feeding all the time, baby not
gaining weight. Positioning and technique are good.

The endocrinologists I have asked say one has nothing to do with the other.
But, have there been any studies with moms who had precocious puberty at a
young
age and followed to see how well they breastfeed?

Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tammy Arbeter - [log in to unmask]
