I was asked this via email and since I'm leaving
Wednesday morning, I dont' have time to pursue it for
Jenna. Please reply to Jenna and to the list for
future reference.

I have a few questions about the SNS that, of course,
are unanswered by the
manual it came with. First of all, among all the
problems it lists and how
the SNS can help, it fails to mention insufficient
glandular tissue. I want
to know how I should go about using it when solids are
introduced, the best
way to use it so she will still be interested in
nursing for an extended
period of time, the best sized tubing for our problem,
and how often I
should replace the tubing when I need to use it for 6+
feedings per day.
Also, troubleshooting, like how to prevent leaking.
Anybody know any
websites with this info? (I already checked Medela's,
to no avail.) How
about anyone who has used it in a similar situation
(or how to find someone
in a similar situation)? All searches for ins. gland.
tis. come up with
websites that do nothing but mention how rare it is.

TIA
Love, Jeanna

------------------------

she is 4.5 mos postpartum, diax at 3 mos, by having
widely spaced tubular breasts. She pumped on a
schedule (= to 9x a day) and got about 6 or 7 oz. of
milk in
24 hrs. on avg. baby nursed "all the time". baby
had a "fluke siezure" in the hospital, was given
phenobarbitol and was sleepy for first 2 days.

sorry for handing this off but I still have a bunch of
things to do to get ready to leave for a month.
