Thank you so much for the response! I have seen recommendation to breastfeed for six months exclusively coming from doctors as early as late 19th-early 20th century, however it later fell into decline. From the information that I see these recommendations used to be predominantly professional, not the actual ground experience coming from mothers. Everywhere I looked women managed to supplement early with other foods pretty much around the world. I would really like to see if there is any information on the actual real life women discovering or following this pattern of exclusive breastfeeding.
