All three of my children are tongue-tied - none clipped. I breastfed all
of them asymptomatically for well over 12 months and had the plumpest
babies you are ever likely to see.
This is not to say that I don't think there can be breastfeeding problems
with tongue-tie, because I know very well there can be, but not all the time.
BTW my children's speech is also unaffected, but I am in the middle of very
expensive orthodontic treatment which Dr Palmer, a dentist who used to be
on Lactnet, has suggested is a major long-term problem of unclipped
tongue-ties.
