I just had to join in on this old enough stuff.

I was born in 1954 and breastfed for 3 weeks. At that time my mom was told
that breastfeeding was for the poor and since she could afford formula, she
needed to stop breastfeeding. She followed her doctor's advice even though
in her heart she wanted to breast feed. Now she is 87 and the only reason
she needs assisted living is because of a fractured hip due to osteoporosis. In
every class I teach that includes the benefits of breastfeeding, I tell this story
and add that if my mom had been allowed to breastfeed as she wanted she
may not have fractured that hip.
