Judy: As for a connection between pulling armpit hair out by the roots
and damaging breast tissue, it's tenuous at best. Yes, there is some
breast tissue that extends into the armpit. However, there is a good
layer of subcutaneous tissue between the skin and that breast tissue.
The act of pulling the hair out at the roots (take this as intelligent
speculation, please) in and of itself would have no effect on underlying
tissue. The only possible effect would be an infection resulting from
the practice which might extend into the deeper tissues, but I highly
doubt that constitutes an important risk (and there's probably as much
risk of infection from regular shaving). Hope this is the kind of thing
you were looking for. Alicia. [log in to unmask]
