Anecdotal evidence here...but Sudafed did substantially affect a friend of
mine's milk supply negatively. However, when I myself used it a time or two,
it did nothing to my milk supply (that I noticed). I recommend homeopathic
or herbal remedies, being careful that the remedy is not contraindicated to
breastfeeding (for example, goldenseal and sage are common cold remedies but
are not compatible with breastfeeding). In my house when we get a cold we
try to do a Vitamin C flush, which usually shortens the cold by half the
duration of what it would be if we didn't do a flush.

There are so many Christian alternatives to counteract the Ezzo materials.
Any of the Sears' books (Dr. William Sears and Mrs. Martha Sears) are
excellent. The best book of theirs, however, that I have found as an
alternative to Ezzo-ish parenting is The Complete Book of Christian Child
Care and Parenting. In this book Dr. Sears writes an extensive Introduction
that is quite detailed about why Ezzo-ish parenting is not God-designed or in
the best interest of parents or babies. QUITE a good read!! Covers
everything from breastfeeding to potty training to discipline (loving
guidance) to teaching lifetime spiritual values.
