Janet:
I agree with you that "clear liquids" in lieu of breastmilk makes no sense,
and that you may need to find another Peds. I hope your little one is OK.  As
a Mom and an Pediatrician/Neonatologist, with the symptoms you described I
would have made a beeline to the ER.
