Baby one with the ulceration from gentian violent:  Ulceration is healing but
still looks nasty! baby is nursing just fine now. Mom was really worried that
she might be labeled a child abuser. It was 1/4 strength solution that she
used.
By the way did anyone catch the typo in one of the responses?--*genital*
violet

Baby two with the tongue problem: By Thursday baby was latching on well and
nursing merrily. Mom couldn't believe how quickly the baby learned. Food is a
strong motivator and it is part of survival. Once this baby figured out his
tummy would get full if he nursed the breast instead of his tongue, he did
well. Isn't mother nature wonderful!
By the way I have seen this tongue sucking before (even on ultra sound). I
believe that it is a really bad habit that babies start in utero. But this
baby was a bit more insistant that his tongue was better than the breast!
