Medela does have a grant program, and maybe Ameda also. But it takes a pump dealer willing to arrange this. In my area, one will do it and one will not. In Texas, WIC loans Ameda Elites to moms with hospitalized babies or so ill they can't breastfeed like this lady's baby. If she is low enough income, or on medicaide she could qualify. 

I really hate moms to use another person's pump in style because the diaphrams can become so contaminated. Ameda's collection kit doesn't allow anything up into the tubing and into the motor.
