I was going to say the same thing that Janice said--that children don't
specifically remember nursing because it was an everyday, ordinary thing
to them.

The only one of my children who ever said anything about nursing after
she had weaned was my middle daughter who was weaned the earliest (22
mos.) because I was pregnant and nursing was making me very
uncomfortable. After gradually working her down to one nursing a day, I
finally had to tell her that it was "broken". About a year later, when
I asked her what she remembered about nursing, she said she remembered
that, "Nap (her code word) was broken." It just about broke my heart.
