So do I - and so did Lucas on the radio yesterday.

Our Office of National Statistics stats do not go that far back, but
in 1980 55 per cent of babies were given solid foods by three months.
The figures for 1985 show formula fed babies were given solid foods
earlier than breastfed babies.

Anecdotally, formula fed babies have always tended to be given solid
food earlier than breastfeds...this is information I have gathered
just from asking people over the years. But Lucas could have asked
about this.

However, it can't be stressed enough that the Lucas babies were not
fully breastfed babies - he didn't even ask about exclusivity.
