Dear Friends:
     It is my understanding that the baby is given something wine-soaked to
suck on during the bris. This will still maintain the full breastfeeding
definition as there is not enough ingested to count for anything. Alcohol is
absorbed directly from the stomach but I doubt that the baby would get enough to have
any effect; the comfort comes from the sucking.
     Anybody else have a comment here?
