I have a mother of a two month old exclusively breastfed baby who is scheduled to report for her annual three week summer training for the National Guard this summer. Mom would be required to go three weeks without seeing and/or feeding her baby at the breast as the training is not near home.

She has asked me to write a letter to the National Guard as they are threatening (she reports this) that she could face dishonorable discharge for not going despite her attempts to explain her case.

I know I can use the AAP breastfeeding policy statement and I think ABM has documents I can send. I think I can look up anecdotal evidence for jury duty, etc...but I was wondering if any of you have experience with this? What type of approach did you use? Did you have any specific cases or evidence that you used besides the policy statements? I think I will also look at the Business Case for Breastfeeding as I am sure there is some info in there that I can use.

Thanks in advance for your help!
