I am working with a mom who has a new baby, approx 2 weeks old. The
baby's newborn blood tests came back yesterday showing galactosemia. He
is showing NO symptoms and they are waiting for new test results and
hoping it was a false positive.

I found an old post here on LACTNET -
http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/wa.exe?

regarding the possibility of having her pump formilk to reduce the
galactose content and then giving the baby hindmilk and perhaps giving
supplemental enzymes. Does anyone have references or more information on
this possibility to aid me in my research? Thanks so much!
