HI All,
As one who is a chocoholic, I can say that for me, it is not a galactogogue.
I can go several days, now, without chocolate (and believe me it is not
easy. It took me a LONG time to wean away from needing the yummy stuff
every day.) but when I binge on it I see no difference in my milk supply.
Recently I was under a lot of stress, lots of stuff happening, not all of it
good, and I was craving chocolate so badly that my hubby went out and bought
me so much chocolate I almost made myself sick (note the operative word:
almost!). I ate probably at least 1/2-1 pound a day for almost 2 weeks.
Then things eased up, there were some major changes in my life, and I no
longer feel the need to eat that much, but I am having to force myself to
not eat it every day. It is almost like a drug, you know? Anyway, I noticed
no increase in my milk supply whatsoever.
Maybe for some folks, who do not eat a lot of chocolate like I do, it can
work as a glactogogue. I am interested in hearing more thoughts on this one.

WHo would REALLY like some chocolate right now, but hubby is gone with the
car and there is none in the house... :(
