Thanks for the replies.  I have bookmarked and downloaded for reading later, as I have a project due this week.  

I wonder how many the Japanese mothers in that study had pain medications during labor, and I wonder if they were discouraged from using those plastic boxes for their babies and encouraged to hold them during their hospital stays.  Maybe they don't even use the plastic boxes in Japanese maternity hospitals.  Would not surprise me.
