we have to remember that some moms are not pumping and bottling HM because it
was their first choice. i have seen too many babies already with oral
aversions severe enough that they hardly bottlefeed well, much less
breastfeed, and their mothers are truly heroines for pumping and bottling
milk, in many cases all the milk the baby takes for months and months. i saw a
mom of a nine month old, pumped 64 ounces per day, he had lots and lots of
problems, but i feel sure he was much better off for the contents of the
bottle being breastmilk.

i don't see how we could possibly show that the milk contents were
consistently different because of pumping rather than breastfeeding, or why we
would want to, when we know that babies thrive on pumped milk. oh, well, maybe
someone could, but why would we want to?
