Have never heard of this. Seems if it were engorgement related to the
miscarriage, it would be bilateral. Does she usually have "normal" bilat.
engorgement?
If it is mastitis or abscess (I am guessing due to the penicillin
prescription), it sounds extreme, and not typical. Could it be a
galactocele? Bottom line is:
I would immediately refer her to a breast specialist MD for further
evaluation. The pregnancy/lactation could just be coincidental and this
could be something serious.
