Getting behind in reading, but wanted to chime in here.
The more or less official name for artificial infant milk is ''kunstvoeding'' which means as much as artificially made food, with a slighty emotional meaning in the direction of ''surrogate food''.
FF moms hate this word and mostly refer to it as bottle feeding. Negative messages in the media (if any) refer to ''baby food''

As a through Harry Potter fan I love the Voldemort analogy, because the hero in those novels does dare to name the evil personage with his thrue name!

Did anyone notice that last year during the horroble melamine contamination in 
China that it was always refered to as "baby milk" NEVER formula? 

I don't know about other English speaking countries, but in America, the
name 
the general population uses for breastmilk subsitutes is FORMULA. I never saw 
or heard  it refered to as formula in any newspaper or broadcast. How they 
managed that is amazing.  They must have some powerful "spin doctors"
as 
they say in politics.
