Quite right about no one knowing what it means.  This is part of the
problem of having these wonderful tests.  We find things we do not
know how to interpret.  Maybe, just maybe, adenomas of the pituitary
are not pathology at all, but a variation of normal, or even just
plain normal.  If there is no unusual growth of the thing or symptoms
due to pressure, if there is no interference with fertility, who
cares?  Maybe the wet nurse who was still nursing "only 3 babies" at
73 years of age (Gay Palmer's book Politics of Breastfeeding),
actually had an adenoma.
