Dear all:

I'm surprised that no one else seemed to notice that the article on the FDA and milk banking quoted Dr. Miriam Labbok.  I had assumed that many people on this list would know who she is since she has been a long term advocate of breastfeeding way back to the time I was a graduate student at Hopkins and frequently speaks at ILCA conferences.  For those who don't know who she is, she was the Senior Advisor for Infant and Young CHild Feeding and Care at UNICEF and is now a Professor of Maternal and Child Health at North Carolina Chapel Hill and Director of the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute.  The fact that she is aware of the FDA's work is something I find quite reassuring.
